GRANTS PASS, OREGON — Organizers with the Josephine County Fair are looking forward to an exciting week at the Fair that runs August 15-18, in Grants Pass, OR. “Along with the things everyone loves about the fair from the livestock exhibits, the 4-H auction, the food, the great carnival rides and all of the displays from our community this is our best entertainment line-up in years,” shares Josephine County Fairgrounds Manager, Peggy Anderson. Major Entertainment: Lonestar To kick off the 2018 Fair Season is National Recording Artists LONESTAR, a country music group that will hit the grand stand stage, Wednesday, August 15. Billy Lund & Whiskey Weekend will open the show at 7:00 pm with Lonestar anticipated to start at 8:00 pm. Depending on section, tickets cost $15, $20 and $25 all seats for Lonestar include Fair admission and can be purchased: • By calling the box office at 541-476-3215 x 2 • At the Josephine County Fairgrounds office, Grants Pass, OR. • At GRANGE CO-OP in Ashland, Medford, Central Point, White City & Grants Pass (Through Tuesday, August 14th) • At the Fairgrounds the day of the show Also playing on the Cow Creek Tribe Midway Stage: • Rock Band FM79 (Wednesday, Aug. 15) • Gretchen Owens (Thursday, Aug. 16) • Sound Stage Review (Friday, Aug. 17) • Countryfied (Saturday, Aug. 18) Country music at its finest with Central Oregon’s premier band WGAS Motorsports Truck & Tractor Pulling – Thursday, Aug 16th and Friday, August 17th. Truck and tractor pulling, also known as power pulling, is a motorsport competition, which requires modified tractors to pull a heavy sledge (sled) along a 35-ft. wide and 100 meter or 300 ft. + long track, with the winner being the tractor that pulls the sled farthest. The sport is known as the world's most powerful motorsport due to the multi-engine modified tractor pullers. Howell Rodeo Company Broncs, Bulls & Barrels– Saturday Aug 18th. Come to the fair and join us for an action-packed evening of Bareback Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Bull Riding in the indoor arena. Ground Entertainment: • Brad’s World Reptiles – This family favorite gets you up close to reptiles and creepy crawlers. Outstanding presentations about these unique visitors will be presented throughout the week. • All Alaskan Racing Pigs – There is something about these plump and fast running swine that put a smile on everyone’s face. • Pedal Pullers – These are not your father’s pedal tractors! These are super-modified, high performance, ground shaking pedal tractors. What more could a kid ask for? Geared wa-a-a-a-y down, big wheels to sit wa-a-a-a-y up, these monsters are impressive to look at and a dream to drive and the kids get all the fun! • Jest In Time Science Fair – Professor Smart’s Science Shows were created for kids but are just as entertaining for adults. Kids will be mesmerized with juggling, the comedic physicality of the performer, and the tempo of the show. Upbeat musical tracks and sound effects go over and beyond all expectations. Look for special performances by the trained human, Matt Herr as well as easy listening performances with Mike Brons! The “Once Upon A Horse” open show is scheduled for Friday, August 17 and returning favorite Annie the Clown and Butterscotch Block will also make appearances.
